Reimaging Windows is a topic that comes up regularly within the community. With the release of Windows 10 this topic became been increasingly puzzling for many IT Pros.
So it was about time I stepped up to try and provide the ultimate discussion guide on this topic. Volume licensing media may only be used to reimage if the device is licensed for the same product version, same components and same language. You are allowed to use any tools on the market to create your golden image.
The other 4 licenses can technically be any other license offered under that VL agreement. As of the middle of October, there was an update for Volume License customers to bypass the Windows Update or Media Creation Tool to claim and upgrade to Windows 10 for free.
Only qualifying Volume Licensing programs are permitted this right, see below. OEM images cannot be used in the scenario where an organization wishes to deploy a standard image across multiple devices shipped from different OEMs. Organizations that want to recover their systems by using OEM media or custom OEM images may only do so with limitations.

Can we clone an image from one of these devices to create a standard image should we need to reimage any of these devices? Since all of the devices are identical, you could technically use the OEM media provided from the OEM to reimage these devices, but only those that were originally imaged with that media.

A Dedicated Host is a physical EC2 server fully dedicated to you.
