To get the best connection possible, you should connect directly to your router with an ethernet cable. This will give you a more stable internet connection, hopefully speeding up your download speeds and getting you back into Los Santos to enjoy the new content.
These tips will give you the best possible chance of speeding up that download. But it’s also worth thinking about whether you are trying to download that update at peak times.
The more traffic on the network generally, the slower it can sometimes get. And that’s sometimes outwith your control.

Lee-m Distinguished. Jan 27, 0 19, Thats a really slow connection. I take it thats mega bits per sec. So 65GB at k kilobytes is about I get it to about 3 and a half days. Games are getting bigger and bigger by the second, and it’s troublesome when you’re trying to play the latest one on your PS5 , Xbox Series X , PC, PS4, Xbox One, or any other platform if they’re downloading slowly.
And so, if your GTA Online update isn’t downloading as quickly as you’d like, you’re going to want to know why and how to fix it. And with the recent release of the Criminal Enterprises update , you’ll need this information more than ever. Good news, good people, we can help you with that Sometimes it’s just that your internet is playing up, but there’s not a huge amount you can do about that if it’s not on your end. If so, perhaps try doing an internet speed test right here. The same is true if you’re simply doing more than you should be while downloading a game.
